MY THOUGHTS: Sure, you can certainly make double envelopes
yourself. These types of envelopes have been described in
many books. There is absolutely nothing new here in
principle or method.
Though you can make these yourself, the well-crafted
construction of these envelopes is what makes these worthy
of a mentalist's attention. They can be pretty closely
examined without fear of detection. What makes these nice
is that the sealed flaps on each end are identical. Pencil
dot whichever end you like for reference and then open
whichever end you need during performance.
Incidentally, it should be made clear that you get only two
envelopes per package: one coin envelope and one invitation
envelope. If you use double envelopes, then you will
undoubtedly use these, and you will use these until they
wear, which they will. After all, they're paper. Sure, you
can replace them. That expense adds up, though. Still, they
are well-made, very usable props with a price that is quite
fair.
